Sikhi To The Max II – the official desktop version
Finally, its here. The much awaited Sikhi To The Max II – the official desktop version has now been released so you can install on your PC or laptop at home – and best of all, its totally free! The sevadars (free volunteers) at Sikhi To The Max have been spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours in the production of this widely used software.
Sikhi To The Max was launched as a beta version at the start of the decade. It wasn’t officially released online, however, the innovative software was much sought after and soon, there were copies floating around everywhere. Now, you can go to almost any country in the world and it’s a certainty that the software is used at some of the Gurdwaras to display and translate Gurbani on projector screens.
PRE-REQUISITES - What you need to get started.
The software is designed primarily to be used on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems. Windows XPBefore using this software, you need to have the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed. To check if you have it installed, go to your C: drive on your computer and check to see if you have the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 Alternatively, go to Control Panel and double click on Add Remove Programs. The "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1" program should be listed in the list. If you DO NOT, then you need to install the following setup that is available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

After installing this program, you must set the permissions of the install directory (default C:\Program Files\SikhiToTheMAX II) and give full control to all users. You can do this by reading the instructions below.
Vista Security - Permissions Issue
By default the directory where STTM II gets installed does not have the correct permissions. We will endeavour to fix this shortly. To overcome the problem follow these instructions but you will need to be logged in as an administrator of the machine.
1) Open file explorer
2) Select the install directory (by default this will be C:\Program Files\SikhiToTheMAX II)
3) Right click on the directory
4) Select properties
5) Select the Security tab
6) Click the "Edit..." button
7) In the "Group or user names" list select "User (YourPC\Users)" (YourPC will be your computer name)
8) In the "Permissions for Users" click on the "Allow" checkbox for "Full Control".
All of the checkboxes in the "Allow" column should now be selected.
Click "OK"
Click "OK"
Run the software and it should launch now
